HISTORY - The history of Vachon cakes began in 1923, when Joseph-Arcade Vachon sold his farm and bought a bakery in Sainte-Marie-de-Beauce. It was the idea of ​​his wife, Rose-Anna Giroux, who wanted the children who had left to work in the United States to return home. Unlike her husband, Mrs. Giroux believed that baking was not the only business potential. She began baking pastries at home, so that her daughter Simone could sell them door to door. The Jos Louis cake was created in 1932 by Paul Vachon. It is a fusion of the first names of two sons, Joseph and Louis.
