Homemade product by our big sister - Dora Artisan Bakery!
There will always be a place in our hearts... and in our bellies for the foods of childhood! You can now enjoy our homemade version of the delicious chocolate "pucks" (hockey pucks) inspired by the traditional Jos Louis, thanks to Dora.
These little artisanal wonders are made in-house with real butter, real cream and a mix of quality chocolates. In square format :)
HISTORY - The history of Vachon cakes began in 1923, when Joseph-Arcade Vachon sold his farm and bought a bakery in Sainte-Marie-de-Beauce. It was the idea of his wife, Rose-Anna Giroux, who wanted the children who had left to work in the United States to return home. Unlike her husband, Mrs. Giroux believed that baking was not the only business potential. She began baking pastries at home, so that her daughter Simone could sell them door to door. The Jos Louis cake was created in 1932 by Paul Vachon. It is a fusion of the first names of two sons, Joseph and Louis.
Quick tip: reserve these because they fly away like hot little pucks!
